From the Desk of the Head Professional
As the colder weather arrives up north it’s a reminder as to why I moved here…it is perfect in the Grand Strand and in particular at Blackmoor Golf Club. We are beginning to see the annual influx of bookings for golfers coming to town which can only mean one thing…fall golf season is approaching!
As the snowbirds flock from the north to relieve themselves of the chilly weather, we hope for those members who are seasonal you will do the same. For those members who live here year round we are all living a dream every single day, I’m sure you would agree.
In tournament news, this year’s Annual Players Cup Matches were held in August and the event was a complete success. The two teams representing the North & South battle over a two day period in Ryder Cup format with The North Team lifting the Player’s Cup Trophy in the end. Don’t forget to save the date for next year. The Players Cup Tournament Matches will be held around the same time in 2017.
Staying on the tournament theme, the Member/Guest tournament is something that the staff gets especially excited about every year. Please email me to discuss any ideas you may have on changes to format, F&B or anything else for that matter. I hope to put together a member survey so keep an eye for that to help with this process as well.
Many of you have met me but some of you may have not. I was brought into the Head Golf Professional position back in late July by the ownership team here at Blackmoor to help with the overall golf operations. I have recently elevated Reed Himstedt to the tournament coordinator position. We believe these changes will provide unquestionable value to our members and guests as well as positively impacting the interests of our ownership. Collectively, there is no group of men and women in Myrtle Beach that have more invested in the game and business of golf than our staff here at Blackmoor Golf Club. I feel they truly want to make a difference in the lives of our members and guests and I can’t thank them enough.
